Holograms and Print: An Interview with Scott Manduck of Video Plus Print (full version)

This is the full version of an interview published on Print Media Centr that I did with Scott Manduck of Video Plus Print. I (virtually) met Scott a year or so ago. I was exploring the prospect of using video brochures in a campaign. He noticed my interest and sent me a LinkedIn message. We kept in touch and recently I received an email from his company that included a video of a new product that combines print, video, and a hologram effect. I thought it was cool and I wanted to share it with the integrated marketing community at Print Media Centr.

Message from Ambassador Paul Altidor (via the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti)

Message from Ambassador Paul Altidor (via the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti)

My family and I received the following message from The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti on October 6, 2016 at 9:01 pm. The Ambassador gives important advice: work with credible organizations and institutions on the ground in Haiti. Bypassing and ignoring local Haitian organizations and institutions (inclusive of government) is not helpful in the long term and has in fact been destructive.

Remembering Bwa Kayiman

A few years ago, at a fundraising dinner, I recited a poem that riffed on a 19th century poem by Haitian intellectual Herard Dumesle. The words of Dumesle’s poem are now associated in living myth with the fighting spirit invoked by Sesil Fatima and Boukman, and included a call to discard an image that only thirsted for our tears.

Still Tight With People In Tights, But Floppy Print Isn't A Fit: New Column by Andy Solages

I’m enjoying a refreshed appreciation for printed books as a whole. After a few years of reading electronic books almost exclusively, the luxury of quiet paper bound for a single purpose feels very real. I relish still moments with hardcovers in particular.
That said, I’ve mostly phased out the long-loved type of book that led to my long term relationships with sex criminals, new gods, mutants, and superheroes: new single issue printed comic books.
